At work in two nations

Gospel OnFire works in both the United States and Pakistan. In Pakistan the work reaches villages and brick kilns across the Punjab and Sindh, from the Faisalabad district to the areas around Lahore, and it keeps moving outward as pastors reach the villages next to the ones they already serve.

Each pastor works together with a disciple, and ten motorcycle evangelists carry the work between villages. Between them they plant twenty-five new home churches every month and keep teaching the ones already meeting.

The work is no longer only in the Faisalabad district. In and around Lahore, teams led by Saleem and Emmanuel plant home churches, show the Jesus Film and carry Scripture into the villages and the labouring colonies on the edge of the city.

Each leader has his own pastors working under him, in his own areas, with the same pattern: a family opens a home, a pastor teaches there weekly, and a leader is raised up from inside the group.

Past the last road

Beyond the Punjab the team travels into interior Sindh, where the villages sit further apart and the visits are longer. Some of the settlements reached there had never had a visitor of any kind — not a health worker, not a government officer, not a missionary.

Meetings happen under whatever shade there is. The film runs on a generator. Water is the first thing anyone asks about, and it is asked about before anything else, every time.

Water filters, each given with a Holy Bible, have now reached families in Sindh as well as the Punjab.
